"O.K. für Kids" in June 2002.

Togehter with teh RWTÜV, the German Child Protection Society (Deutsche Kinderschutzbund LV NRW) has developed a very extensive catalogue with unirform criteria for family-orientated hotels. This resulted in the first clear definition of childfrienliness. The standards are high: included are for instance: the rights of children, offered programmes, adventure worlds, guests' satisfaction / dealing with criticism, company guidelines, staff qualification and behaviour, safety, locatoin and facilitities/design of the hotel, hygiene and environment-friendliness, transparency and communication as well as the contact with the children. The report contains 34 sites and is available for perusal at the Sonnenpark.

The FAMILOTEL Guarantees

1. Safetey
Traffic safe, additional satety measures for children (e.g. protected sockets, stair handrails etc...), extra safe toys / playthings, playrooms etc...

2. Special facilities for children and families (included in the price)
Baby alarm(active = staff and/or guest automatically notified after the "first tone), all-weather play facilities (e.g. games and toys to borrow), toys- and games library, spacious playroom, outdoor playground near the hotel (max. 200m away), puddle service

3. Special facilities for babys and toddlers (included in the price)
Child's bed and cots with nice bedclothes, changing table or mat, diaper bucket, baby bath, potty of trainer-seat for the toilet, footstool for the washbasin, bottle warmer, steamer to sterilize bottles etc., possibilty to prepare and heat babyfood (also at night), prams, buggies, baby-backpacks, baby alarm

4. Restaurant (minimum offer: breakfast)
High chairs and seats, bib service, colouring sets, brightly coloured dishes and cutlery for children, children's meals/food (e.g. appropriate portions, prices, recipes etc.), child-friendly and safe environment, child-friendly staff, children are served quickly and before the adults, non-smoking zones (restaurant and public rooms)

5. Accomodation
Family apartments (2 rooms with connecting door ) and/or family rooms, kitchen(ette) in the room or a communal kitchen with night access, children's prices (discounts up to 100%), laundry service within 24 hours or quest laundry room

6. Child care and entertainment
5 days a week (at least 35 hours/week) included in the room prices, skilled staff, child care during all opening hours (not just in particular seasons), baby-sitting service at a charge, to be organized before 18.00 pm (2-3 hours possible on request) on any day, dream land for kids (traffic free complex)

We have thought about EVERYTHING. You just need to bring your children's favourite toys and cuddly toy of pillow.

Please note::
the most modern baby alarm in the hotel is free of charge. You can also use your mobile phone with the baby alarm system, so that will also be notified outside the hotel complex.
